Update 0.4.8 not showing up / Update Option Not Appearing

Still at version 0.4.7, despite 0.4.8 now showing up as an update nag during launch.

I noticed that as well while I was refactoring the project. While the check is slower now it does seem to catch the updates, I went with a more traditional method for checking pip with updates.
