Search filtering by namespace

• In our landing page, we used the namespace feature in order to show recent changes per MathModDB class, e.g. academic discipline as following in wikitext:
  [https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/wiki/Special:RecentChanges?namespace=4232&limit=1000&days=42&enhanced=1&urlversion=2%7C Academic Disciplines]
  but this does not work anymore because of new style for URL and namespaces are abandoned(?).
  From
  https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/wiki/Special:RecentChanges?hidebots=1&hideWikibase=1&namespace=4232&limit=1000&days=42&enhanced=1&urlversion=2
  we get only the Move log.
  If the namespaces are not used anymore, it would be better to remove at least the MathModDB namespaces

  Is there maybe another way to get (recent) changes related to items that are instance of academic discipline (Q60231) or generally items that have the statement community (P1495) MathModDB (Q6534265)?

I feel sorry. I was unaware of this use. However, I think maintaining the namespaces in addition to the Profile page property is a possible source for inconsistencies and unnecessary overhead.

One way to get the same information is using SPARQL and sort by last modified date. Do you see that as an alternative?

Just out of curiosity: Were you able to see changes to items that had profile pages associated to the namespace or did you only see new items?

I think we can go with the sparql option, a bit less user friendly than before but good enough for our purposes.

Good question: I think only items but I am not 100% sure. @bsch63 : do you maybe remember?

@AurelaShehu do you need support to build the query? Do you think it's less user friendly to build the SPARQL query or to find the button? For the latter, I think we can use the fact that we are using a wiki a bit more and design some user facing pages with additional documentation.

I could build something like this
Recent changes on Academic disciplines

then I would get a list of results of recent modifications of MathModDB items that are instances of academic discipline. This is what you meant @physikerwelt ?

We can go with something like that, I think it is not a problem. With the user-friendly I meant that we had a hyperlink which took you to the Recent Changes (filtered by academic discipline for example) and get a rendered list similar to the Recent Changes with the date, the actual changes, the user who did it and so on.

Yes.

If you format the sparql query linked above as a wiki list you can get all the features from recent-changes that you need. Maybe it's a bit more effort, but it's more correct as also changes and not only new items are displayed.

I showed an alternative today to TA4 with SPARQL queries as listed here under Recent Changes https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/wiki/MathModDB/Example_SPARQL_queries

This should be good enough and we can close the issue.
