Page Guid

HI

We are trying to use page guid in the page.data file but it looks like it is not always present.
What is the status of the attribute? Or can we use something else if we are storing page data externally and need to update it (by first making sure it is the same page) if the page is reuploaded with the next backup (.neonotes file)?
