• Logger
• Error reporting, or something to easily track/fix issues from users (I like how Atom does it, but could be too much work?)
• Remote debugging (doesn't need to be a "feature" of the project, could be enough with some instructions from the terminal)
• Fast loading (don't hang the UI thread while scanning the games)
• Automatic background scraping of games (can we speed things up or help out the online video games db's from being pummeled with requests?)
• Nice full screen background image support (no lag when switching between games)
• Video playback support
• Audio playback support
• Sensible defaults for most controllers (why do they always have to be set up manually on other systems? start with something most people agree with and just change it if you want to)
• "Native" support for Stephen's scraper (it's written in Go, and RetroPie supports it but only through its own UI)
• Support Kodi or other home video system
• Theme support, preferably with different designs per console
• Theme design support to help the community easily create new themes
• Keyboard support

Or you want it more integrated with UI's? In the latter case, I'm lost and I would really like to know beyond bizantine UI's such as ddd or heavy Eclipse nonsense :)

What do you mean by "Video support"?
