If you then use authenticated features such as MetaTrader sync or AI-assisted CSV mapping, the plugin also connects to the Journalit backend API for sync coordination, trade retrieval, and optional AI mapping, and MetaTrader sync uses Journalit-managed FTP infrastructure for report uploads. Journalit may also request exchange rates from a third-party exchange-rate service when multi-currency conversion is needed. These network-backed features are opt-in.
